You ever have one of those days?

Everything starts out OK. You're on the ferry doing some sightseeing, relaxing, giving your little brother a shitty time,
(just for a couple minutes . . it's required sibling behavior,)
because taking the boat was his idea and now he's getting seasick.

Then You see a girl's body floating in the water.

Then YOU end up giving her mouth to mouth, (saving her life in the process.)

Then you catch some guy LEERING at your boobs!

Then some other gal shows up in motorcycle racing leathers, kicks "Mr. Boobs" in the guts, AND damned good!

THEN she DRAGS you along looking for the girl you just saved,
KICKS in the door to the room she's recovering in,
AFTER PULLING A GUN!

THEN you end up in the middle of their fight . . .
 . . . and the girl you saved is swinging around a BIG sword and almost cuts you in half, along with the delivery truck you were standing . . . HIDING next to.

After they carry their fight someplace else,
you try to evacuate the ship because of the fire
THOSE TWO PSYCHO CHICKS STARTED
 AND you realize that your little brother hasn't got his "MEDS" (they guy has a heart condition!)
YOU GO BACK to the room on the ferry where you were staying to start searching.

AS you just find your Brother's "MEDS"
(with a little help from Dr. Cleavage....Nice guy but he's still the perv that seems to have an unnatural affinity for your bosoms)

 Guess what?

THE SHIP SPLITS IN HALF!

AND you aren't even though the first episode yet!
{I left out a bunch of stuff too.}

There are generous amounts of fan service . . .
but it's not too overwhelming and My Hime seems to move along well.

Unfortunately as the majority of the series is pretty good,
they manage to "seize defeat from the jaws of victory"

Yup the ending sucks ass.
Hate to say it but it's true.
Most everyone I know was under whelmed by the "dead being resurrected" ending.
Over at ANN they rate this one a 8.25.

Personally . . . I'm an ass about anime that fucks itself up at the end.
I give this one about a 6 . . .
that's only becauuse the first 24 episodes were actually pretty good.

Hopefully Mai-Otome works itself out better.

 

My Otome is kind of a spin off that uses some of the same characters but set them in a different reality along with different personalities. I've only seen the first North American release disc and it's not to bad. A little shallow on the plot side with all the stuff going on but this could be really good.
