Personally, this is an interesting show with a unique concept about the lives of people and how their very existence is stolen, replaced by a "torch" that acts as merely a place-holder for the victim. Eventually the torch fades and goes out along with the memories of the victim's existence.
While the concept is kind of different for me, the show still is about magic and fighting evil . . . with very small amounts of fanservice.
This show tends to take itself seriously.
Only the DVD extras take a lighter turn.

I give this one about a 7.8. It's rewatchable and doesn't have too many slow parts or fillers. The ending does leave a bit to be desired as many things are left open  . . . BUT . . .

. . . there is a second series out in Japan and a movie and a OVA
with more on the way(?)

Over at ANN the fans say it rates about a 8.2
