I've seen all the
episodes and it's one of the more "fun" anime that I've gotten a
chance to watch.
At first I found our heroine Louise
to be arrogant, even contemptuous, I even found myself disliking her
character quite a bit but I realized that most all the students at
her school are like that. As the series progressed I found myself
liking Louise more and more.
Louise kind of makes me think of Charlie Brown & Lucy having a kid .
. .
. . . although I never wanted to pinch Chuck's ass . . . or Lucy's
either, (pretentious girls always annoyed the hell out of me.)
Louise has a rather common trait, she learns by screwing up . . . I
guess that's what I would find most endearing about her after the
first episode.
I like a girl that gets humbled by her own hapless incompetence
despite her pretentiousness. She does have more endearing traits but
that might be spoiling it for some of you and you'll get a chance to
see if you watch the anime.
The ratings for this show seem to be really good and I haven't been
disappointed at all.
There's a mix of some really good ideas from shows and novels like "A
Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" and "The Last
Unicorn" or the Japanese equivalents . . . they even tossed in some
stuff that looks like it might be from "Elemental Gelade" or
"Scrapped Princess". Despite the mix of familiar ideas {no pun} they
used some very original ideas to move the story along and make you
wish more.
This anime has the rarest of qualities, they needed to make it
longer.
I think it deserves a solid 8 of 10.
It seems they heard us who thought
there should be more . . .
It seems the second season/series in in production and it should air
in July.
Geneon has the North American License
for the first season and since they don't exist here in the USA it'll be hard to tell if we'll ever get to see this one.
